What is vaginismus?

Understanding it is the first gentle step.

Vaginismus is an involuntary tightening of the pelvic-floor muscles before or during attempted penetration. It isn't a choice, and it isn't a sign that something is broken — it's a protective, fear-based reflex your body learned along the way.

Because it was learned, it can be unlearned. With breathing, relaxation and gradual, gentle dilator practice, the muscles can learn to soften again — and the fear can fade. VagiBud is built to walk beside you through exactly that.

Not just dilators — a whole, gentle method

Why VagiBud is different.

Most vaginismus apps hand you a set of dilators and a schedule, and expect your body to comply. But vaginismus is a fear-based reflex — and fear doesn't answer to a timetable. VagiBud takes a holistic approach: it begins in the mind, reconnects you with your body, and only then — gently, when you feel ready — introduces dilation, before guiding you into intimacy.

1MindCalm the fear
2BodyReconnect gently
3DilationOnly when ready
4Intimacy& beyond

Dilation is one phase of four — never the starting line. Other apps start at phase 3. We start where healing really begins.
